My name is Whitney and I specialize in individual therapy. Life is challenging and often times we need a little extra support. I help individuals alleviate symptoms related to anxiety, stress management, and emotional imbalance. I offer a safe place free of judgment that allows for processing, discussion, and exploration of past trauma, current stressors, unhealthy habits, disrupted relationships, and unresolved conflicts. My areas of interest include, but are not limited to: first responders and their spouses, fertility, pregnancy/perinatal, parenting, life transitions, and identity development. Together we will establish goals and create a restorative plan for future success and stability.
Person-centered therapy focuses on the client, not the problem. Clients are seen as facilitators of their own growth with guidance, support, and nurturing. The shared therapeutic relationship is the foundation for success, combined with genuineness, unconditional positive regard, and empathetic understanding, the essential traits of the person-centered approach.
I combine components of Psychoeducation, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and encourage creative outlets such as art, journaling, meditation, fresh air, and narrative restructuring between sessions.
You will be heard, empowered, and educated with the ultimate goal of learning and strengthening skills that lead to a healthier and happier life.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, I earned an undergraduate degree from Miami University in Psychology and a graduate degree from Xavier University in Clinical Counseling.
I completed my internship at a partial hospitalization program, facilitating group, individual, and family therapy to youth and adolescents. I then moved into a school counselor position, providing individual therapy to elementary age students in multiple urban settings.
I relocated to Washington state in 2017 in search of fresh air and mountain landscapes. I worked for a small private practice, facilitating individual therapy. As of March 2020, I’ve worked fully remote with individual adults and started my own private practice in February, 2022.
I am the proud spouse of a law enforcement officer
and completed training as a First Responder Counselor in December, 2022, with the intention to effectively blend my personal experience and clinical knowledge to support the first responder community.
